Where is lapsang souchong from?
Lapsang Souchong is originally from the Mount Wuyi area of the Fujian province of China.
How does lapsang souchong taste?
It is known for it’s strong, smokey or oaky taste. Campfire tones are often reported, and the tea is generally considered an acquired taste. The smokiness comes from the tea being withered over pine and cedar fires, pan-fired, rolled then oxidized, and finally drying in bamboo baskets hanging over burning pine.
